What is Web 2.0? Does it make a difference in today’s educational environment? How might it help you as a tool for learning and teaching? How are your students using Web 2.0 technologies in their lives? In this session we’ll devlve into these questions while de-mystifying terminology, exploring tools, demonstrating and sharing conversation about educational uses of web 2.0 tools such as wikis, blogs, Facebook, delicious, flickr, youTube, and more.
Discussion Board Extravaganza

Are your online discussions fizzling? Has the stimulating, edifying back-and-forth devolved into rushed, uninspired I-agree-with-the-above type of comments? So how do you put the pizazz back in? Join us as we discuss various ways of making stimulating prompts but also looking at alternative uses of the discussion board function.

Building out from the ePortfolio and DFL seminars, this series will
give you a chance to see what your colleagues are doing
with technology in the classroom, and provide opportunities
to discuss what works with LaGuardia students. |
Hear and discuss how faculty bring the Arts into courses and curricula to enliven learning and advance student literacy. The Center is interested in helping to strengthen the integration of Arts into curricula, and plans to expand this strand of the series into a faculty development seminar in the near future. |
LaGuardia is home to an on-going dialogue about diversity. The focus of this strand of the discussion series will be on utilizing the diversity in our classrooms to strengthen and enrich learning.
