Welcome to Erang’s
API page! I am the tutor for an accounting class this
semester. Most of my students call me Anna (which is my
Catholic name). I was born and raised in Korea . My sweet
father gave me the family name, KWON, my dedicated mom named
me Erang. Right after I was born, they took me to church
with my brother and my godfather who chose the name Anna for
me.
I came to the U.S.A. in 2005 to learn English, and so I’ve
lived apart from my family for three and a half years now.
This experience has given me more than just the ability to
speak English. I have also been able to explore my new
world, and started to see the opportunities and potentials
in it. I am thankful to my mom for allowing me to stay here
so that I can learn so many new things.
Also, I am so glad that I could join the API program before
I graduate from LaGuardia. Because of this program, I feel
that my school life is worthwhile everyday. Helping my peers
and watching them improve makes me so proud, and affirms my
own confidence.
Right now, my major is Business Administration, but I plan
to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or
Finance at one of the top business schools in the future.
Meanwhile, the API program has given me the confidence to
challenge myself to get to a higher stage of my life. I see
it as a way to prepare me to transfer to one of the best
schools in the US . This is the reason that I want to keep
working as an API tutor during the upcoming semester!
