    Robert Andrew Pangilinan


    Robert is currently pursuing his bachelor’s in computer science at Queens College. He is from the Philippines and hates the summer but prefers the cool weather seasons, because he is used to the cool weather of Baguio City, where he was born and raised. Robert is mainly focused on programming but is also knowledgeable about mobile development and 3D modeling. He also works as an IT consultant for WebServes, a nonprofit organization located in Manhattan, New York. His goal is to work for Microsoft, Google or IBM and eventually pursue his master’s degree in computer science. In his free time, he likes to play basketball and video games or coach his sister in volleyball.

    Marwa Answar


    Marwa Answar is majoring in human biology at Hunter College. In the future, she wants to be an epidemiologist. Marwa is always full of positive energy and compassion and is very accepting of others. She is very approachable and can make others feel at ease, and they can talk to her without the fear of being judged. Her presence is so welcoming and full of warmth that it naturally makes them feel comfortable around her.

    Ginny Gonzalez


    Ginny Gonzalez started working as a student technology mentor for the Center for Teaching and Learning in August 2015 and was promoted to an instructional design assistant (IDA) in August 2016. She studied fine arts at LaGuardia and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s in graphic design at Queens College.

    Wahajuddin Syed Bio

    Wahajuddin Syed


    Wahajuddin Syed started working as a student technology mentor (STM) for the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) in June 2016. He graduated from LaGuardia Community College with an associate degree in electrical engineering in 2016. He is currently pursuing his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from The City College of New York. Being an experienced student technology mentor with a demonstrated history of working with technology and showing leadership skills in the higher education industry, he was promoted to an instructional design assistant (IDA) position in March 2017. Wahaj has a great passion for technology and enjoys tearing down devices for the sake of curiosity. Of course, he fixes them back again.

    Mark Xia Bio

    Mark Xia


    Mark Xia is the first in his family to receive an undergraduate education. He plans to utilize his degree in computer science to develop innovative software. Mark has received the Spring Into Action Scholarship and is a member of the Accelerated Study in Associate Program (ASAP) and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. In his free time, he works on various coding projects, volunteers at his sister’s preschool and likes to go fishing.
