    Reporting to the Director in the Health Sciences Department, the College Laboratory Technician duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Maintains the day-to-day activities and services of the nursing skills lab, Including laboratory and simulation scenarios set up, for day and evening laboratory sessions.
    • Maintains equipment and ensures Its operation; makes simple repairs and performs minor maintenance to laboratory equipment.
    • Maintains inventories of supplies and equipment; preparation of orders for laboratory equipment and supplies.
    • Collaborates with faculty in scheduling laboratory classes, practice hours, and the resource room open hours.
    • Schedules use of, and assists in, simulation laboratories.
    • Supervises and schedules adjunct college laboratory technicians, college assistants, and work study students assigned to the nursing labs.

    LaGuardia Community College seeks an Instructor or Assistant Professor of the Business Administration Program - Healthcare Management option offered jointly by the Business & Technology and Health Science departments.     The CUNY Fatherhood Academy promotes responsible fatherhood and economic stability by connecting low-income fathers to educational, employment and parenting resources. We serve unemployed and underemployed fathers, ages 18-25 for our High School Equivalency (HSE) program, and ages 18-30 for our College and Career Preparation program.

    Reporting to the Program Manager of the CUNY Fatherhood Academy, the Outreach Recruitment Coordinator will assist with the implementation of marketing strategies to raise program awareness in communities.  Other duties consist of, but not limited to the following:

    • Assist with creation and implementation of a comprehensive and ongoing outreach plan and timeline targeting various agencies, groups, community based organizations and city agencies specific to young fathers and their families.
    • Assist in strengthening existing relations, cultivating new relationships, and coordinate the logistics for expanding the program’s presence in NYC five boroughs.

    Reporting to the Manager of IT Help Desk, the IT Assistant will provide a broad range of systems support services to the college community. The IT Assistant Technician is primarily responsible for the configuration, maintenance, support and installation of hardware and software. The selected individual must have a track record or providing maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT Help Desk. The IT Assistant Technician will be responsible for administration and internal support of PC's, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end-user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations. The IT Assistant Technician must have the ability of working independently or in a team environment.

    Other duties will entail the following:

    • Provide help desk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction
    • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT help desk
    • Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out, based on priority
    • Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc.
    • Utilize and maintain the help desk tracking software
    • Document internal procedures and prepares reports
    • Assist with on-boarding of new users

    Reporting to the Director of Athletics & Recreation, the Assistant Director assists with managing the day-to-day affairs of the department, as well as assist with the coordination of program operations & events.  The Assistant Director schedules and supervises hourly staff in the areas of the Red Hawks Basketball Teams (Men & Women), Fitness Center, Sports Gym, Movement Studio, and Swimming Pool.

    In addition to the duties in the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Assist with the intercollegiate basketball home game events procedures, which includes, the Athletics Events Team game set-up, off-site travel, housing and per diem arrangements for away games..
    • Distribute, receive,and follow-up on Student Athlete Accountability reports every 3 weeks during the semester and monitor the Early Alert system feedback in collaboration with the student-athlete advisor. Engage with faculty to follow-up on the academic progress of student athletes where needed.
    • Coordinate payroll processing on a bi-weekly schedule. Maintain all written documentation (time sheets, sign-in sheets, exercise programs, membership records, brochures, assessment information, inventory, supplies, and paperwork) in an orderly, complete and accurate manner.
    • Collaborate with the Registrar's Office and Academic Advisors on matters concerning academic eligibility. Ensure that student-athletes are correctly documented for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) eligibility and compliance. Maintain complete files for each student athlete as required by the NJCAA for compliance and audit purposes.
    • Assist with the management/membership tracking system (eClubLogic Software).
    • Coordinate the design, publication, duplication and distribution of advertising brochures, posters and flyers for departmental use in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications department.

    With directions from the Financial Aid Manager, the Financial Aid Advisor provides assistance to students applying for federal, state and institutional aid and communicating academic college policies, as well as, but not limited to the following responsibilities:

    • Advise students on financing their education at LaGuardia.
    • Perform Title IV verification for students selected by the Federal government (includes income verification, selective service compliance, default issues verifying immigration status, etc.) to ensure the accuracy of data reported to the Department of Education.
    • Notify students of missing information or documents.
    • Provide assistance to students applying for federal, state and institutional aid.
    • Update Student Financial Aid (SFA) records as needed to ensure timely payments.
    • Respond to inquiries from students and maintain student and administrative records in accordance with CUNY Records and Retention policy.
    • Conduct financial aid workshops and orientations as needed.
    • Represent the department on and off campus as requested.

    Counsels applicants and students on eligibility for financial aid programs, assisting them in the application process.

    • Verifies eligibility for Federal and State financial aid programs including grants, scholarships, and guaranteed student loans
    • Performs application intake, evaluation, processing and awarding
    • Assists in the production of Financial Aid online, print material, and websites
    • Advises students on good academic standing requirements and the appeal process; reviews appeals for dependency overrides and budget adjustments
    • Conducts group workshops and represents the financial aid office at various on- and off- campus events
    • Serves as a liaison between the college office and Direct Loan Providers
    • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

       

    Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree required.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    • A demonstrated commitment to providing quality student service in a diverse college is expected. 
    • Schedule must remain flexible during peak periods
    • Knowledge of Federal and State Student Financial Aid regulations, programs, practices and procedures preferred.
    • Knowledge of CUNYFirst and related Student Financial Services software (NSLDS) desirable.
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

    Reporting to the Associate Dean for Progress and Completion, the Student Life International Student Manager will serve as the Designated School Official (DSO) for the F-1 program and as the Responsible Officer for the extensive web-based monitoring of J-1 Exchange Visitor Program.  In addition to the duties in the CUNY Title Overview, the successful candidate will manage office operations, supervise student service advisors and administrative support staff, as well as perform the following responsibilities:

    • Develop strategy and planning for on-going SEVIS implementation and management;
    • Ensure institutional compliance with Department of Homeland Security and Department of State immigration regulations for F and J non-immigrant status;
    • Monitor and implement regulatory changes and compliance that impact reporting and procedural aspects of the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS);
    • Comply with SEVIS event-based and periodic data reporting obligations within applicable regulatory deadlines;
    • Support international students on immigration regulations, compliance, requirements and benefits;
    • Provide resources and referrals for academic issues, personal and cultural adjustments;
    • Collect, manage and quantify pertinent institutional research data;
    • Assist students and departments to facilitate institutional compliance with federal regulations of the Department of Homeland Security and Department of State;
    • Guide non-immigrant students in maintaining legal immigration status in the U.S. by recommending and support the filing of all necessary applications to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services in a timely manner;
    • Oversee records and databases for record-keeping and case management purposes;
    • Recommend and implement software and other technological products for better record-keeping;
    • Manage the development and facilitation of informational modules for enhanced delivery of services, training and orientation programs for international students;
    • Manage Recruitment Events for new and international students;
    • Prepare monthly reports about international student and recruitment activities.
