LaGuardia student writers and artists can publish their own work and read or view the work of others in our student literary and arts magazine, The Lit.
Previously known as Literary LaGuardia, this yearly collection of writing and art by students aims to capture the entire spectrum of creative expression on campus, from poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction to photography, drawing and mixed media.
Each issue is edited, designed and printed during Spring I by an editorial team of interns enrolled in ENG288, an elective open to all interested students on campus. Copies are then distributed at the Launch Party the following fall.
Our 2016 issue won a Second Place Award in the campus literary arts journal contest of The American Scholastic Association.
Each year we accept general submissions November thru February and also hold a March Creative Writing Contest. Each spring we seek inspired writers, editors, artists, graphic artists, photography editors, journalists, and outreach experts to join our editorial team.
