  • LaGuardia's 44th Graduating Class

In the fall of 1973, America’s first black Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, herself a pioneer and powerful symbol of social justice in
America, addressed the 254 students of LaGuardia Community College’s first graduating class, courageous idealists who rose to the challenge of transforming themselves and their families' lives by earning a college degree.

At LaGuardia’s 44th commencement, the dream remains the same.
