    Important note - Please be sure to pick up your rental attire by May 23. Gowns will not be transported to Queens College or be available for rental on the day of the ceremony.


    If you would like to participate and march in the Academic Procession or serve as a Commencement Marshal, you must wear academic attire. Our supplier is Herff Jones, a company that has served the College for many years. Paul Reilly is our sales representative and may be reached at pjreilly@herffjones.com, or telephone (516) 781-0348. You may begin placing your orders beginning today until April 15, 2016.

    When placing your order, please provide the following information:

    Your Name
    Height
    Weight
    Cap size or Forehead Circumference in inches
    Highest Degree earned (BA, BS, MA, MFA, PhD, etc.)
    College or University from which highest degree was received

    Please Note-If you miss the April 15 deadline, the late ordering period for specific attire will run from April 18 through April 26 for an additional $19 late fee

    Payment may be made when you pick up your pre-ordered rental garments on:

    Monday, May 16 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Mainstage Theater, and
    Monday, May 23, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Little Theater.

    Herff Jones will have a supply of extra gowns available for immediate rental on May 23. The extra garments will be a limited selection of doctoral gowns with education or CUNY hoods.


    Please arrive by 7:00 a.m. and use the Main entrance on Kissena Blvd. Present your LaGuardia ID to speed through the Security checkpoint.

    Once on campus, make you way to the Dining Hall building (View campus directions). Your assembly and robing area is located in “Midway Court.”

    You must be ready to report for your assignment by 8:00 a.m.

    Note: All commencement marshals must be robed. Please bring your academic garments with you. No gowns will be transported to Queens College or be available for rental on the day of the ceremony.


    Faculty and staff participating in the Academic Procession should arrive by 8:30 a.m. and use the Main entrance on Kissena Blvd. Present your LaGuardia ID to speed through the Security checkpoint.

    Once on campus, make you way to the Dining Hall building (View campus directions). A commencement volunteer will guide you to the robing area located in the “Midway Court”.

    The Academic Procession will form at approximately 9:30 a.m. and will begin to march into the Quad by 9:45 a.m., followed immediately by the Presidential Platform Party. Both groups will sit on stage.

    Faculty and staff not marching in the Academic Procession should arrive by 8:30 a.m. and take a seat in the “Quad,” located directly behind Jefferson Hall

    Should arrive by 9:00 a.m. and use the Main Entrance on Kissena Blvd. Present your LaGuardia ID to speed through the Security checkpoint.

    Once on campus, make your way to the Dining Hall building (View campus directions). A commencement volunteer will have your name on their check-list and guide you to the robing area located in the “President’s Lounge”.

    The Platform Party will begin to assemble at 9:45 a.m. and march into the Quad by 10:00 a.m.

    VIP guests will be escorted to their reserved seats by commencement volunteers at approximately 9:30 a.m.


    Will start at approximately 10:00 a.m. and will end at approximately 1:00 p.m.

    Graduate guests as well as faculty and staff not marching in the Academic Procession should arrive by 8:30 a.m. and take a seat in the Quad, located directly behind Jefferson Hall (View campus directions).

    The Student Processional will begin to march into the Quad at 9:00 a.m.

    The Academic Procession will begin to march into the Quad by 9:45 a.m., followed immediately by the Presidential Platform Party. Both groups will sit on stage.

    The ceremony will be signed by American Sign Language interpreters.  


    The Student Processional will form at approximately 8:30 a.m. and begin to march into the “Quad” at 9:00 a.m.

    The Academic Procession will form at approximately 9:30 a.m. and will begin to march into the Quad by 9:45 a.m., immediately followed by the Presidential Platform Party. Both groups will sit on stage.


    Seating arrangements for faculty and staff with special needs may be made in advance. On the day of Commencement, College staff will help individuals with special needs to their seats via accessible routes.
